Mike Richards Set For Center Third Line Tonight

As we reported earlier this week, Mike Richards is returning to the Los Angeles Kings. Kings fans can rejoice as he is set for the center third line in tonight’s matchup against the New Jersey Red Devils.

Richards told the media that getting sent to the AHL was a humbling experience. Before he was sent to the Monarchs, he had five goals and 15 points in 47 games, once in Manchester he had 14 points in 16 games. The last time he played in the AHL was on March 8 due to his private conditioning skating sessions with the Kings.

NHL.com reports the following on Mike Richards coming out of the AHL:

“I feel good,” Richards said. “I’m excited to be back, obviously. It’s where you work toward getting. It’s not an ideal situation but you try to handle it as best as possible and when you get a chance like I’ve been given you try to make the best of it.”

“I’ve been watching the games on TV,” Richards said. “This is the fun time of the year to be a part of a team in the NHL. It’s exciting and I was excited when I got the call.”

Get ready Kings fans, Richards is back!
