Melvin Gordon Is Heading To Orlando

‏@SNFonNBC

After an excellent season, Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon will join the best players in the AFC, with his first Pro Bowl selection. Micheal Gehlken of the San Diego Union Tribune reported the news.

In his second season with the team, Gordon led the Chargers in rushing with 997 yards and ten touchdowns. He averaged 3.9 yards per rush, improving on his 2015 numbers. This was a great successful year for Gordon, who only fumbled the ball only twice this season. The mistakes as a rookie turned into Gordon dominating the running game before an injury ended his season.

Gordon will replace Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Von Bell for the AFC. Bell suffered a groin injury on Sunday night in the loss to the New England Patriots in the conference championship game. Gordon becomes the first Chargers running back to appear on the AFC team since Ryan Mathews, five years ago.
