Mavs In Serious Talks With JaVale McGee
- Updated: July 14, 2015
Accoridng to Marc Stein of ESPN.com the Dallas Mavericks and JaVale McGee are in serious negotations on a contract.
But sources peg interest between JaVale/Mavs as mutual and poised to get serious if McGee, as @espn_macmahon said, can ease medical concerns

After the DeAndre Jordan decision to join the Dallas Mavericks there was talk that McGee would join the Clippers and become Doc Rivers next project for development.
When Jordan decided to return to Los Angeles the Clippers focused turned to a cheaper alternative in Cole Aldrich who re-signed with the club yesterday.
The Mavericks have rebounded to the best of their ability since the Jordan decision. They picked up Deron Williams who had his contract bought out from the Brooklyn Nets, and they completed a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks and acquired Zaza Pachulia.
The Mavericks also were able to get Wesley Matthews to sign a deal with the club so there are some pieces there for Rick Carlisle to work with.
The Los Angeles Clippers do not really have a need for McGee at this point. I think they’ll take a Jordan for McGee trade every time.
