Matt Shoemaker Struggles, Angels Lose 8-4

Matt Shoemaker‘s woes continued today as the Los Angeles Angels fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 8-4. The Angels split the series with the Blue Jays 2-2.
Shoemaker continues to struggle this season. He pitched 6 innings allowing 8 hits and 8 runs, 7 earned. He struck out 4 and walked 2. He picked up his 4th loss of the season.
On the other side R.A. Dickey got the start for the Jays. He pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 1. He picked up his 2nd win of the season.
The offense started in the first inning. Marc Krauss hit a solo shot to right field, his 1st of the season and gave the Angels a 1-0 lead.
The Blue Jays pushed 2 across in the 3rd inning. Danny Valencia hit a solo shot to right field that tied the game. Ryan Goins scored on a throwing error to give the Jays a 2-1 lead.
In the 5th inning Jose Bautista hit a RBI single to right field that brought in Goins. Edwin Encarnacion hit a 3-4un blast to top things off. This gave the Jays a 6-1 lead after 5 innings.
The Angels tried to rally back in the 7th inning. David Freese hit a RBI double to deep center field that brought in Mike Trout.
In the 7th inning Bautista hit a sacrifice fly to center that brought in Steve Tolleson. Kevin Pillar reached on a infield single that brought in Josh Donaldson and gave the Blue Jays 8-2.
Vinnie Pestano pitched 1 inning striking out 1. Jose Alvarez pitched a clean 8th inning for the Halos.
The Angels will travel to Boston to take on the Red Sox tomorrow night at 4:10 p.m. PST.
