Matt Kemp Latest Padre To Be Traded

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today the San Diego Padres have traded outfielder Matt Kemp to the Atlanta Braves.
Once the physicals are complete, the #Braves and #Padres deal will become official; Matt Kemp for Hector Olivera

Nightengale reported further details on the move.
Hector Olivera’s domestic violence suspension expires on Tuesday, so that’s 1st day he can be eligible to play for #Padres.

He continued.
The #Padres basically just selling Matt Kemp to #Braves. They save money,and plan to DFA Hector Olivera, who has $25.5 million left on deal.

Nightingale confirmed some details of the money exchanging hands.

Kemp was in his second year with the Padres after being traded to the club before the start of last season. With San Diego selling off their assets at the deadline it made sense that Kemp would eventually be moved.
