Greene is a former second round pick of the 2002 NHL Draft. He was selected by the Edmonton Oilers and spent three seasons there before joining the good guys.
Greene has been apart of the Kings for the last eight seasons, being apart of the Kings championships in 2012 and 2014.
In order to make up for the loss of Greene the Kings traded Jordan Weal for Vincent Lecavalier and Luke Schenn in an effort to provide depth for a deep playoff run.
Greene underwent shoulder surgery in early December and will need the rest of the season to rehab. Los Angeles currently sits on top of the Pacific and will look to keep the momentum going with the new additions.
