According to Arash Markazi of ESPN.com Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes has a strained rotator cuff.

Markazi also reported that Barnes left the Spurs arena with his shoulder heavily taped on Sunday afternoon.

The Clippers won a pivotal game four thanks to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin’s efforts. They also got a huge lift from Austin Rivers off the bench and they will need Barnes to continue to be a pest on defense.

In this years payoffs he is averaging 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He has been struggling to find the range from three and he is just 4/15 from deep so far.

Barnes will play in game 5 but it has yet to be seen how effective he will be with the shoulder injury. Let’s hope he stops him from shooting has him focus on defense.
