Marlins Top Dodgers In Mattingly’s Return

Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly returned to Dodgers Stadium on Monday night and beat his former team 3-2.
For Los Angeles Ross Stripling got the start. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing 8 hits to go along with 3 runs while striking out 3 batters. He was awarded his first loss of the year.
On the other side Wei-Yin Chen got the start. He pitched 6.2 innings allowing 6 hits to go along 2 runs while striking out 4 batters.
The offense got started Giancarlo Stanton hit his fifth home run of the year. His solo shot put the Marlins up 1-0 in the fourth inning.
Not to be outdone the Dodgers answered back with two home runs of their own. Yasiel Puig hit a solo shot to right field. For Puig it was his second homerun of the year. Trayce Thompson followed with a solo shot to left center field and the Dodgers held a 2-1 advantage.
In the fifth inning Stanton hit a RBI double to right field that brought in Christian Yelich. This tied the score at 2-2. Derek Dietrich provided the hit of the night in the sixth inning. He hit a RBI triple that brought in J.T. Realmuto and the Marlins took the lead at 3-2.
A.J. Ramos came on in the 9th inning and shut the club down. He struck out two and walked one as he picked up his fourth save of the year.
The Dodgers and Marlins will continue their series tonight at Dodgers stadium.
