Blanton was drafted in the 1st round of the 2002 MLB draft. Blanton has played for the A’s, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Kansas City Royals, and the Pittsburgh Pirates throughout his career.
Last season with the Dodgers he posted a 7-2 record with a 2.48 ERA in 75 games. He pitched 80 innings and allowed 55 hits.
Blanton is a former starting pitcher who switched over to a relief role as he got older. Los Angeles is looking to improve their team going forward and bringing Blanton back could be a solid edition.
After failing to reach the World Series once again Los Angeles needs to sure up any holes in the bullpen.
