Marian Gaborik Possibly Out Until Playoffs

@theScore

According to Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Kings winger Marian Gaborik could be out until the playoffs.

Gaborik sustained the lower-body injury in the first period of the Kings game against the New York Rangers last Friday night. He was unable to put any weight on the injured knee.

Dillman reported further details on the injury situation in her article with the LA Times.

The Kings placed him on injured reserve the next day but there was no additional update until Sutter responded, via email, on Monday night.

“Hope to get him back for the playoffs,” Sutter said.

Gaborik is a very important player for the Kings even though his numbers are down this year. He does only have 12 goals this season but had scored four in his last seven before suffering the injury.

LA will need to rely on some of their depth in order to hold things a float with Gaborik. We are hoping for a speedy and smooth recovery.

As more information surfaces on Gaborik and the injury we will keep you up to date.
