Manaea’s Strong Start Drops Angels 3-1

Sean Manaea had a strong outing as the Oakland Athletics beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3-1 on Wednesday night. The loss snaps a 2-game win streak for the Halos.
Manaea pitched 6 innings allowing 0 runs while striking out 6. He walked 3 and picked up his 10th win of the year for his club.
On the other side Tyler Skaggs got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs while striking out 9. He walked 1 and picked up his 5th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 4th inning when Khris Davis hit a solo shot to right field. This gave the A’s a 1-0 lead. In the 5th inning Chad Pinder hit a RBI single that brought in Marcus Semien. Davis reached on a Justin Upton throwing error and Pinder scored.Oakland led by a score of 3-0 after 5 innings.
In the 8th inning Kole Calhoun hit s RBI triple that scored Andrelton Simmons. That was the only run for the Halos. Chris Hatcher came on in the 9th inning and picked up his first save of the year
