Lou Williams Big Night Not Enough To Down Thunder
- Updated: January 9, 2016
Lou Williams scored a career high 44 points but it wasn’t enough to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night as the Lakers fell short 117-113.
With the loss the Lakers record now sits at 8-30 while the Thunder improve to 26-11 on the season.
Williams led all scorers with 44 points in 35 minutes. Kobe Bryant reached double figures with 19 points and 6 assists. Jordan Clarkson also reached double figures with 17.
For the Thunder Russell Westbrook was three assists shy of a triple-double. He finished with 36 points, 7 assists and 12 rebounds.
Kevin Durant chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. Steven Adams added 10 and Enes Kanter added 15 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. Cameron Payne reached double figures off the bench with 11.
Oklahoma City shot 51% from the field which is not going to win you many games if the Lakers continue to let teams score whenever they want. Los Angeles was also outrebounded 45-34.
Up next for the Lakers they will take on the Utah Jazz on Sunday night at Staples Center at 6:30.
Great effort Lou Williams! Let’s get them next time!
