- Updated: January 16, 2015
The Utah Jazz will take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight as the Lakers travel to Utah.
The Lakers are coming off a loss last night against the Cavaliers, despite Kobe setting new career highs. Kobe Bryant will not play tonight against the Jazz, after the Lakers made the decision for him to stay home as the team hit the road. The star talked to NBA.com the following after the possibility of him sitting out was brought up:
“I want to play, but at the same time, I understand his position, and I understand management’s position, and I will do what they ask of me,” Bryant said. “But it’s very, very hard for me to miss one game.”
The Utah Jazz are also coming off of a loss, they struggled against the Golden State Warriors. They allowed a season-high of 44 points in the third quarter. NBA.com quotes Trey Burke saying
“I want to play, but at the same time, I understand his position, and I understand management’s position, and I will do what they ask of me,” Bryant said. “But it’s very, very hard for me to miss one game.”
The Jazz are expecting Trey Burke back on the court tonight after being out with illness on Tuesday.
It will be an interesting matchup tonight, especially as the Lakers are coming off of back-to-back games.
