Los Angeles Lakers Vs. San Antonio Spurs Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 23, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers will continue their road trip against the San Antonio Spurs tonight. The Lakers are coming off a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, but may have suffered a bigger loss with Kobe Bryant hurting his shoulder.
Bryant underwent a MRI yesterday and reports today confirmed all Laker fans fears. Kobe Bryant has suffered a torn rotator cuff and will miss the rest of the season recovering from his injury. This will mark two seasons in row that he has been put out of play due to an injury.
Tonight will be the third and final matchup between the two teams this year. The Spurs took the first game 93-80, and the Lakers won an overtime thriller 112-110.
The Spurs will be returning home tonight to recover from their loss against the Chicago Bulls. In classic Greg Popovich form, he was honest about the team’s performance. He told NBA.com:
“We just played embarrassing basketball,” coach Gregg Popovich said. “I want my money back.”
The Lakers are giving up 108.2 points per game as the visiting team, which marks a NBA-worst. They are 6-25 against Western Conference teams, so it should be interesting to see how they perform tonight, especially with the news of Kobe Bryant.
