The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the defending champion San Antonio Spurs in San Antonio tonight. While this rivalry may not be as meaningful as in years past it’s always a good time when the Lakers and Spurs meet.

Tonight we will see how the Lakers respond as a collective unit after the clash. For the Spurs they are on much happier terms. They were able to rest their key guys and still beat the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
Head Coach Gregg Popovich told ESPN.com reports this about his teams most recent performance.
“I haven’t been this pleased in a while,” coach Gregg Popovich said. “I just saw a lot of guys who haven’t played much play the fundamental game; they executed well. Guys that haven’t played are going to try hard, that’s not that big of a deal, but their execution was really good.”
The Lakers and Spurs have already met once this season with the Spurs taking the victory 93-80. Bryant talked to Arash Markazi about the last matchup.
Kobe on the last loss to the Spurs: “That game was a combination of us sucking more than normal and them doing a good job defensively.”
