Los Angeles Lakers Vs. New Orleans Pelicans Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 21, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers will travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans tonight. The Lakers are on the road to their longest losing streak of the season.
The Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, and they were not able to close out the game like they should have. Kobe Bryant did not play in the loss and he is expected to sit out in this game as well. Tarik Black will also be out of contention following an injury suffered in last night’s game.
Coach Byron Scott told NBA.com, and put their loss down to the following:
“Turnovers,” coach Byron Scott said. “We had eight at halftime and we finished with 23. You’re not going to win a whole lot of games with 23 turnovers.
He feels much better,” Scott said Tuesday. “I asked him about Wednesday, and he said he thought that he would be ready for Wednesday as well as Friday, but I don’t want to jump the gun.”
The Pelicans have been struggling without their star as well. Anthony Davis has been out of play with a sprained left toe and is listed as day-to-day. They are coming off of a loss to the New York Knicks and are now 1-3 without Davis in the lineup.
Eric Gordan said the following to the media after the game, as per NBA.com:
“It’s always disappointing. We know what we’re capable of as a team,” said guard Eric Gordon, who had 20 points. “We didn’t have that many assists tonight, like 13 or so. The ball wasn’t moving as much as it should. We definitely wanted this game after what we did (Sunday’s 95-93 win in Toronto).”
It will be an interesting matchup if both teams are indeed without their stars! Go Lakers!
