Los Angeles Lakers Lose 113-105 In OT To Bucks
- Updated: February 4, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers were not able to put the game away tonight as they went into overtime with the Milwaukee Bucks. The game ended 113-105 in the Bucks favor.
The team gave up their lead late in the game while they played without Jordan Hill and Kobe Bryant. It was a game that everyone was hoping to see rookies Jabari Parker and Julius Randle playing in. Unfortunately both players are out with season-ending injuries.
Nick Young came off of the bench in the first quarter and immediately made an impression on the game. His three-pointer pushed the score to 26-24 and closed out the first quarter.
The Bucks scored eight of the last 10 points of the half, but shockingly the Lakers led 54-46 at the half. Boozer and Young were the Lakers top scorers, as they dropped 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The Lakers were unable put up a basket in the last five minutes, that was until Young scored in the paint with 30 seconds to go in the third. After three-quarters, the Bucks had the upper hand 74-68.
Lakersnation.com reports the following on the game:
“Ellington added to his point total with a jumper and gave the Lakers the lead at 83-82. Consecutive shots by Boozer and Davis put the lead at five. After the Bucks scored, Davis threw down a dunk off a Lin miss to make it 91-85. Mayo responded with a three-pointer to cut it to three, but Lin then responded with one of his own. Knight then followed with another trey to make it 94-91 with 20 seconds. Lin chucked up a deep ball and gave the Bucks the ball back with six seconds. Mayo hit the game-tying three with half a second left to send the game into overtime.
Two bad possessions by the Lakers sealed the deal for the Bucks, as they were forced to foul. Boozer finished with 28 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lakers in the loss.”
Up next the Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Orlando Magic on the road on Friday.
