Add Lakers to list of teams interested in Josh Smith – if he’s all about that cash – Lakers an option but . . . http://t.co/HZPfJ9WZHW

The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled thus far this season and are desperate to add talent to their roster. Josh Smith was released by the Detroit Pistons early this morning as Stan Van Gundy is looking to move the team in a new direction.
The Houston Rockets are said to be the favorite to land Smith at the moment. The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers are also supposedly showing interest in the athletic small forward.
Josh Smith would be an upgrade at the forward position for the Lakers however his consistently inconsistent shooting ability would only add to the Lakers perimeter shooting issues.
On the financials side of things, the Lakers can pay up to 4.85 million for Smith due to the medical waiver they received for Steve Nash.
It will be interesting to see if Smith wants to come to Los Angeles or join a team with a better chance at winning a title.
So far this season Smith is averaging 13.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Josh Smith will mostly clear waivers on Wednesday morning and a decision will most likely come on that day.
