Los Angeles Kings Vs. Vancouver Canucks Start Time, Preview, TV

The Los Angeles Kings will take on the Vancouver Canucks in a New Years Day matchup. So far this season the Kings have struggled with consistency and are currently on a five game road losing streak. With the change in the calendar they will hope to start the new year on the right track.

On Tuesday night the Kings fought back to force overtime against the Edmonton Oilers but fell in the shootout 3-2.  The Kings have just four road games this season.

Jake Muzzin talked to ESPN.com about the Oilers game.

“This one is disappointing, just like the last one,” said defenseman Jake Muzzin, who scored the equalizer with 2:25 left in regulation. “We have to come out hungrier, more desperate, harder. I don’t think we’re coming out with the right attitude that we need to win hockey games right now.

“We shouldn’t be in that situation where we need goals late. We have to get our goals early.”

On the other hand, the Vancouver Canucks have won 3 of their last four games. They are coming off a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in their last game. The Canucks did a great job of killing penalties against the Sharks as they killed all four of the Sharks opportunities.

In the month of December the Canucks successfully killed 34 of 36 penalties.

After tonight’s game the Kings will be heading home for a long 7 game home stand. Let’s take this road game and head back to the comfy confines of Staples Center!
