When the Los Angeles Kings take on the Edmonton Oilers tonight there’s little more on than line than your typical regular season game. With just three games left in the season every point won or loss means that much more. The Kings lost in shootouts last night which is no surprise. They are just 2-8 on the season in that department.
The Kings should have plenty of confidence heading into tonight’s game. They have won 9 of their last 10 matchups against the Oilers and overwhelmed them the last time these two teams met. LA was victorious 8-2 on Thursday night when the Oilers traveled to Staples Center.
With the Kings currently tied with the Calgary Flame for third in the Pacific Division standings and only one point behind the Winnipeg Jets for the second wildcard spot two points is much-needed tonight.
Jonathan Quick will be in-goal tonight for LA Kings. He was excellent last night making 37 saves. Jeff Carter and Marian Gaborik each found the net twice last time out against the Oilers. Expect them to be extremely aggressive tonight.
