Los Angeles Kings Top Colorado Avalanche 2-1

The Los Angeles Kings ended their three game losing streak as they topped the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 on Tuesday night.

For the Avalanche they have struggling themselves entering last night with just 16 wins on the season. Los Angeles controlled the puck in the firs period out shooting the Avs 12-5 but had nothing to show for it.

In the second period Mikko Rantanen got the Avs on the board. His goal went unassisted and gave Colorado a 1-0 lead. Tyler Toffoli answered back with a tip-in goal. His goal that tied the game was assited by Drew Doughty and Adrian Kempe.

Trevor Lewis scored the go ahead goal later in the period. His wrist shot goal was assisted by Tanner Pearson and the Kings took and held on to the 2-1 lead.

Peter Budaj made 24 saves for a .960 save percentage. Calvin Pickard made 30 saves for a .938 save percentage in the loss.

Los Angeles will host the Boston Bruins at the Staples Center tomorrow night a 7:30 p.m. PST.
