The Los Angeles Kings were able to cure their recent woes and beat the St. Louis Blues at home 6-4. The Kings finally returned home after a long 5 game road trip in which they went just 1-3-1.

In tonight’s high scoring affair the Blues got out to early lead. In the span of three minutes the Blues opened up a 3-0 lead. David Backes scored a powerplay goal, and Dmitrij Jaskin followed up with a goal of his own. Kevin Shattenkirk chipped in yet another powerplay goal and Kings fans found themselves screaming at their TVs.

Marian Gaborik finally answered with the Kings first goal of the game which was a powerplay goal that was assisted by Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar. The Kings would end the first period down 3-1.

Anze Kopitar scored a goal in the second period that was assisted by Marian Gaborik and Jeff Carter. Gaborik scored his second goal of the game shortly after which tied the game at three apiece. The game wasn’t tied for long after Jori Lehtera scored a goal to give the Blues a 4-3 lead.

The third period was all Kings as they scored three goals to seal the win. Jeff Carter, Jake Muzzin, and Dwight King each scored goals in the period and the Blues were unable to answer the bell. The Kings outshot the Blues 37-28 tonight and the scoreboard finally reflected that.
