The 36 year old Mike Adams was out last season for three months dues to a rotator cuff injury. He has since undergone multiple shoulder surgeries and other procedures to repair a sports hernia and to also relieve thoracic outlet syndrome over his career
ESPN.com reports the following quote about the new signing:
“You know if he’s healthy, he’s good,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. “It’s just a matter of being able to watch his bullpens, see how the ball’s coming out. It’s not like, ‘Can he pitch or not?’ It’s just a matter of, ‘Is he healthy?'”
Adams will be competing for a place on the Dodgers’ major league roster which includes the likes of Dustin McGowan, Sergio Santos, David Aardsma, David Huff and Chad Gaudin.
