After the Dodgers traded Dan Haren to the Miami Marlins, they needed to do something to fill the void. Anderson was one of the best young arms in baseball during his time in Oakland. However, he has battled injuries and has been unable to stay healthy since 2010.
He has not pitched more than 100 innings since 2010. It is important to note that Dodger general manager Farhan Zaidi was working in Oakland at during Anderson’s best years.
During Anderson’s eight starts last season he did pitch well. The lefty posted a 2.91 ERA and a 1-3 record.
According to Buster Olney Anderson received interest from the Yankees and the A’s before signing with the Dodgers.
There was also interest in Brett Anderson from the Yankees and Oakland before he worked out a deal with LAD.

Anderson will make $10 million dollars this season guaranteed but could make up to $14 million in incentives. It will be interesting to see if Anderson stays healthy as the Dodgers will need him to hit at least 100 innings.
