According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com the Los Angeles Dodgers have cut pitcher Dustin McGowan.

McGowan, the former first round pick has spent his entire career with the Toronto Blue Jays before signing with the Dodgers this offseason.

On just Sunday, Don Mattingly said the following about Dustin McGowan:

“I don’t think he’s comfortable yet. We’ve seen some good sliders coming out, some good off speed. I don’t think like he feels he’s consistent yet. The ball’s not coming out the way he wants. He said he felt great today,” manager Don Mattingly said on Sunday. “He threw some good sliders today.”

His contract was heavily based in incentives. McGowan struggled this Spring as he posted a 6.75 ERA in 7 appearances. He struggles mixed with the payment due if he made an MLB roster was a major reason the Dodgers parted ways with veteran.

The Dodgers also sent Mike Adams to Triple-A earlier this afternoon.
