Today the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 2-0 and were able to win the series.
CBSsports.com reports the following on today’s game:
“Greinke came into the game with the lowest ERA in the majors and reduced it to 1.58. He has an ERA of 1.59 over the past 10 games but is just 1-2 during that span because of poor run support.
Two relievers completed a five-hitter for the Dodgers’ 11th shutout. Kenley Jansen pitched around a leadoff double in the ninth for his 11th save in 12 chances.
The Dodgers have allowed 13 runs in their past eight games, and the bullpen has thrown 12 2-3 consecutive scoreless innings in the past five games.”
Jose Urena kicked off the pitching for the Marlins and with no scoring in the top of the first, Zack Grienke came out to pitch to Miami.
Scoring didn’t happen until the fifth inning of the game. With Howie Kendrick up to bat he reached on fielder’s choice to second base. This helped Jimmy Rollins to score but put Joc Pederson out at second.
Runs came again at the top of the seventh. Mike Dunn relieved Urena at the mound and Adrian Gonzalez stepped up. He doubled to left which helped Kendrick to score.
Up next the Dodgers will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks away.
