Los Angeles Clippers vs. Portland Trail Blazers Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: January 14, 2015
The Portland Trail Blazers will take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight as the Clips travel to the state of Oregon.
Coach Doc Rivers spoke to NBA.com about the Trail Blazers:
“I think where they’ve had the biggest jump is in their defense,” Rivers said of Portland. “They’re so much better. Last year they were a great offensive team and they struggled defensively. This year they’re a great offensive team and they’re very, very good defensively.”
The Clippers will now play their next 11 games on the road after their win streak crumbled against the Heat on Sunday.
Chris Paul scored 22 points in the Nov. 8 win against the Blazers and has been able to put up 11 or more assists in his previous four matches with Portland. Blake Griffin has also played well, he is averaging 31.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in the past three meetings.
The Trail Blazers will continue one of their best “defensive stretches of the season.”
“Last year we were a young team and we were new to winning. I think now we are one of those teams,” said Damian Lillard. “We win without depending on offense. We play together, we get along, we are confident in ourselves.
“We’ve won 30 games. I just think we have to keep the same mentality that we’ve had.”
