Los Angeles Clippers vs Milwaukee Bucks Recap 12/9

The Los Angeles Clippers would end up winning a tough one Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks in Milwaukee 109-95. The Bucks were 7-4 at home coming into the game and had beaten the likes of Cleveland on their home floor already this season. It was “Fear the Dear” night in Milwaukee as the Bucks dawned some stylish black jerseys and a newly decorated court.

Quarter number one did not get off to the start the Clippers would have hoped for in Milwaukee. Los Angeles was having a rough shooting quarter and much like the rest of the half the Clippers defense was pathetic to put it kindly. However the talk of the quarter and possibly even the game was this dunk that took place midway through the quarter as DeAndre Jordan put Greg Monroe on a POSTER! Judge for yourself,

The Clippers would end the quarter on a bit of a run and a buzzer beating three by Josh Smith from the corner would leave the team trailing the Bucks by one heading into the second quarter 26-25.

But the quarter wouldn’t end quietly, Smith and head coach Doc Rivers created some drama on the bench at the end of the quarter as Smith came off the floor after draining the three yelling at Rivers and Rivers back at Smith. Poor defense the possession before the three lead to an easy Michael Carter-Williams dunk and Smith’s defense was most certainly the culprit so Rivers anger seemed warranted.

The second quarter of play followed a similar pattern. The Bucks went on a run and Los Angeles recovered thanks to some very energetic play from Wesley Johnson. Johnson was able to get a great steal and dunk midway through the quarter that would charge the Clippers up and get them back into the game. This steal was one of the few good defensive plays seen from Los Angeles in the first half of action. Blake Griffin also became a threat in this quarter and was able to help the Clippers keep it close as the quarter ended the quarter trailing 48-47.

Quarter number three was the quarter of J.J. Redick. Redick went on a stretch where he rattled home 11 points in 4 minutes and would end the quarter with 15. His shooting and the team defense finally coming to form and would get the Clippers on an 11-0 run that would help them take their first lead of the night 57-56 with about 8 minutes to go. Thanks to the terrific play of Redick Los Angeles would end the quarter leading Milwaukee 75-68 and the scoring for Redick did not slow down between quarters.

The Clippers would be able to hold onto that lead for the remainder of the game and the shooting of Redick would certainly be a big reason why. Redick’s shooting seem to take the lid off the basket or Los Angeles as his hot streak got Paul’s shots to start falling this quarter as well. The Hack-a-DJ strategy late in the game as the Bucks trailed failed to help Milwaukee cut into the Clipper lead and the team would finish the game off easily, winning by 14.

JJ would end the night leading all scorers with 31 points shooting 6-9 from three point land and leading the Clippers offense. Blake Griffin, whom struggled to find his shot from midrange would end up having a stellar night with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan did what they do best as Paul knocked in 18 points and 18 assists while Jordan rounded up 19 rebounds.

The Clippers will continue their road trip tomorrow night when they take on the Chicago Bulls on TNT tomorrow night.
