Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks Recap 10/29
- Updated: October 29, 2015
The Los Angeles Clippers walked out of Staples Center Thursday night with an impressive 104-88 win over the visiting Dallas Mavericks. Blake Griffin would yet again take player of the game in what was a stellar performance for the superstar, but first we should cover the drama surrounding these two teams.
The Los Angeles Clippers remain ever popular as for the second straight night an opponent had something negative to say about the the team. Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks always outspoken owner was the culprit of tonight’s memorable quote which surprised no one after his offseason roller-coaster involving Clippers star center DeAndre Jordan.
Cuban’s bitterness towards losing such a great player that he never truly had remains as apparent as ever.
Jordan however responded for Los Angeles in the game against the team he never played for grabbing an incredible 10 rebounds in just the first half and finishing the game with 15 rebounds total while scoring 6 points, and getting 4 blocks. The Mavericks started the always fun Hack-A-DJ before the end of the first half to which Jordan responded as usual going 2-8 at the line in that first half. Jordan still needs massive improvement in this area or this will continue.
Blake Griffin continued his hot streak putting in a game-high 26 points to go with 10 rebounds and 2 assists in what is his first double-double of this new season. Chris Paul had a rather pedestrian game by his standards only dropping 9 points and 5 assists on the board.
The Clipper bench was able to get some valuable minutes towards the end of the game as the team dominated the second half. Overall this was a win the Clippers probably should have expected going in, playing a Mavericks team without Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews. However no wins in the NBA ever come easy and we will absolutely take the 2-0 start. Go Clips Go!
