JJ Redick Statistics for 2013-2014 Season:

15.2 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game, 1.2 turnovers per game, .455% field goal percentage, .395% three-point percentage

Los Angeles Clipper shooting guard, JJ Redick, has been improving every season since he entered the league in 2006 with the Orlando Magic. Last season, Redick had a career high in points with 15.2 points per game as, primarily, a starter for the Clippers.

While Redick may have been performing at a high level in the games he played in last year, an assortment of injuries held Redick back as he only played in 35 total games.

Redick has always been known for his sharp-shooting ability as he has shot 39% from the 3-point line for his career. For the majority of his career, teams Redick has played on only used him for this specific reason…drain 3’s while coming off the bench.

The Clippers have had other ideas for Redick, though.

Redick’s season may have been shortened due to a multitude of injuries, but Redick would still start in 34 games which was, by far, the most Redick has started in for his career.

The Clippers have given Redick the option to do a little more within the offensive set instead of just camping out on the 3-point line all game. As a result, Redick shot a career high in the field goal percentage department as well, shooting  46%.

Now being fully healthy, the Clippers are poised to use Redick in the same fashion as they were doing last year as Redick will be the projected starter heading into the 2014 NBA season.

Will Redick perform at a high level like he did last season? If so, will Redick stay healthy so the Clippers can use him late in the season and into the playoffs? These are key questions to be answered during the Clippers’ season.

Redick could be the x-factor the Clippers will need heading into the playoffs and making a run towards the championship.
