Los Angeles Clippers: Chris Paul 2015-16 Predictions

Chris Paul was Chris Paul last season.

He’s traditionally averaged around 18-19 points per game while complimenting that with 10 assists per game and up and around two steals per game to round off his exemplary set of numbers and last season was no different.

What was different?
Paul was just a handful of made threes away from joining the exclusive 50/40/90 club. Aside from shooting 39.8% from deep last season – his 2nd highest clip of his career – Paul played all 82 regular season games for the first time in his career. While this might no€™t be a big deal to many including Paul himself, it’s a good sign that Paul’s body is still up to the rigours of a full NBA season and now with him being on the wrong side of 30 years of age, Los Angeles Clippers fans can hope that he can repeat those efforts again this season.

Entering his 11th season, Paul’s status as one of the premier point guards in the league has never been questioned, however one question that will continue to be raised is how his playoff legacy might define him.

Following back to back heart breaking exits in the Western Conference Semi Finals, the trio of Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan will now be entering their fifth season together and the will be questions asked if this core cannot carry this success-starved franchise deep into May and June.

This Clippers team is arguably the deepest of all time, with hardened NBA veterans making up most of the Clippers off-season signings, and with the emergence of DeAndre Jordan and the ever-developing game of Griffin, Chris Paul’s time as leader of this franchise could somewhat be coming to an end.

Paul is Mr. Reliable when it comes to putting up numbers and his influence as floor general will not waver. Everyone knows how easy Paul creates space between himself and his defender in the mid-range area, however if he is able to maintain a similar percentage from three-point land this season, it will ensure the Clippers starting group remains one of the most dominant in the league.
