Matt Joyce will most likely bat in the two hole in front of AL MVP Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. General manager Jerry Dipoto talked to ESPN.com about the Joyce.
“He gives us a lot of flexibility and makes us a deeper and more balanced team,” Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto said. “We just felt like this was an opportunity for us to build a deeper and well-balanced lineup for 2015, and continue to move in such a way that we feel like we’re making the team better.”
Joyce has spent the last 6 seasons with the Rays and is a Tampa native. Last season he hit .254 while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 52 runs. Matt Joyce made the All-Star team back in 2011 when he hit 19 home runs and 32 doubles.
The Angels gave up Kevin Jepsen in the trade who has been part of the Angels organization his whole career.

Jepsen made 74 appearances for the Angels recording two saves. The Angels have made quite a few move thus far this offseason especially at the winter meetings and there is sure to be more.
