Lonzo Ball Will Not Play Tonight

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball will not play tonight in the club’s preseason game.
Lonzo Ball will not play tomorrow when the Lakers face the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center, per source. He will be evaluated Thursday and remains day to day to return.

Mike Trudell of Lakers.com also reported the news.
Walton said he was “informed today” by the training staff that Lonzo isn’t going to play. “Our goal is to be patient,” he added. Ball wasn’t ruled out until this morning, when they decided to keep getting him more practice reps vs. playing him in the game.

Luke Walton says Brandon Ingram will start at point guard and Lance Stephenson will be the backup. Lonzo Ball and Rajon Rondo are both being held out for rest.
