Before we get to talking about the Clippers rough loss to the Cavaliers there was some breaking news before the game began about the Clippers draft pick from this season Branden Dawson.

Clearly that is not good news and we will keep you up to date as we find out more. For now let’s get to the game!
A March matchup between two potentially high seeded playoff teams did not go the way the Los Angeles Clippers hoped. The Sunday afternoon game between the Clippers and the Lebron James led Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center had all the makings of a good showdown but the Cavs found a way to run away with the game, winning it 114-90.
J.J. Redick got things going early for the Clippers as is customary for one of the games best jump-shooters. Great shooting and solid defense were the pillars of quarter number one for Los Angeles as they would trail by just 2, 21-19 after one.
The second quarter changed everything as Cleveland looked unstoppable. A struggling Clipper bench along with a scorching Lebron did not make for a successful stretch but the Clippers managed to keep it close for a bit.
Cavs’ run got to as much as 30-6. Paul’s jumper helps settle things down, but Clippers down nine

Things started to get out of hand however as shots began to fall for Cleveland and Los Angeles really struggled. Cleveland would grab control, Leading 58-41 at the end of the first half of play. James ended the half with 16 points and 5 rebounds. His team was helped greatly by the Clippers 7 turnovers to just 3 for the Cavs.
J.R. Smith. If I didn’t have to write anything else about this quarter I wouldn’t, he went off. Getting 14 points, including 11 consecutive for Cleveland as he ended the game with 17. The Cavs then went on a three-point shooting bonanza that put an end to the Clippers through just three-quarters of play as they made 8. The Clippers would trail 91-68.
The fourth was much of the same except it was Kyrie Irving who made Los Angeles look foolish early on for even trying to guard him. Very poor effort from the Clippers and garbage time late in the quarter made this an unwatchable quarter for those dawning the red, white and blue.
Lebron James ended the game with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in just three-quarters of play. Meanwhile the leading scorer for Los Angeles was Redick with 19. Paul and DeAndre Jordan each got double-doubles for the Clippers but it clearly wasn’t enough.
A rough loss for the Clippers who have struggled against other top teams in the NBA. Next they will take on the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday on NBA TV at 5:30 PM PST. Thanks for reading along Clipper fans and here’s to hoping the next one goes better for us!
