Calderon has spent time with the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, and Lakers throughout his career. So far with the Lakers this season he has played in just 24 games.
With Los Angeles committing to the D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Brandon Ingram veterans like Calderon have found themselves out of the rotation. If Los Angeles is able to buy Calderon out of his contract, they will save some money and give Calderon an opportunity to play for a contender.
