Nwaba had made a name for himself after staring for the Lakers D-league team last year getting the call-up to the NBA last season. When the Lakers were able to sign Kentavious Caldwell-Pope they had to make some room in the cap.
Nwaba was the odd man out in the situation. Nwaba will now be on the waiver wire for 48-hours and if he clears Los Angeles can bring him back to the G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
Los Angeles is currently playing in the Las Vegas summer league. Lonzo Ball, Thomas Bryant, Josh Hart and many other young players are playing for the Lakers and it will be interesting to see who will make the opening day roster.
