Lakers vs Raptors Recap: 102-91

With a strong performance, the Toronto Raptors end their three-game losing streak, as the Raptors get past the Los Angeles Lakers, 102-91.
Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan caused all kinds of havoc for the Lakers and their attempts for guarding both players. Lowry scored 25 points to lead the Raptors in the win. DeRozan was clutch coming down the stretch of this game, scoring seven points in the final four minutes of the game, as DeRozan ended the game with 18 points.
The Lakers are still very concerned with their superstar, Kobe Bryant. Bryant scored a season-low 10 points, 5 of 13 from the floor, 0 for 5 from 3pt-range, whole playing a season high in minutes with 37. Lakers Power Forward Julius Randle, picked up some of the scoring duties from Bryant, to lead the team with 18 points and he was the big man on the boards, leading both teams with 12. His rookie playmaker teammate D’Angelo Russell added 17 points for his new career-high in points scored. Not to be overlooked, Jordan Clarkson has a very nice game. Clarkson gave the team 13 points on 6 of 13 shooting from the floor, as his total numbers added up to a plus 12 for the game.
The Lakers bench was totally absent from this game and provide no help for the starting rotation. No player scored in the double-digits, as the team was led by Nick Young‘s 8 points, followed by Lou Williams 6 points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
Let’s be honest here for a minute, a combined total of 80 minutes were played by the five players off the Lakers bench, they managed to score a grand total of 25 points. This production has to be improved for this team to manifest wins. There was a good number coming out of this game. The Lakers did better from shooting from the floor, as the team did manage to shoot 45.5% as to Toronto’s 43.6%. The Lakers numbers were better only because they were 35-77 from the floor, Toronto was 34-78.

The Lakers (2-10), have now lost back to back games now for the third time this season, will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center tomorrow night at 6:30 PST. The Trail Blazers (5-9), are coming off a very impressive game, in which the upset the Los Angeles Clippers last night, 102-91, in Portland. The Lakers are still having a hard time in their division, they are still in the basement of the NBA’s Pacific Division, eleven games behind the Golden State Warriors.
