Lakers Struggle Fall To Heat 78-75
- Updated: January 13, 2015
The Los Angeles Lakers struggles continued as they fell to the Miami Heat 78-75. What has been a season of disappoints for Lakers fans tonight was no different. Kobe Bryant returned to the lineup after sitting out two games to rest. As painful as it sounds the Lakers might have been better off tonight with him sitting.
Bryant shot just 3/19 in tonight’s loss as he had 12 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. The Lakers took a page out of their NHL compadres the Los Angeles Kings book tonight. They allowed the Heat to score the first 16 points of the game.
Overall the game was extremely hard to watch. Both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket, especially from behind the arch. The Heat shot just 2/16 from deep, while the Lakers shot 4/23. Laker fans who watched could tell you that nothing seemed to fall in the hoop. Anytime you shoot 32% from the field it isn’t going to result in a win.
Mario Chalmers had a decent game for the Heat. He scored 19 points and had 8 assists in the win. A big surprise was the strong play from Hassan Whiteside off the bench. He chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds, and also had 5 blocks for the Heat. Chris Anderson had 12 points and 8 rebounds as well.
For the Lakers Jordan Hill and Ed Davis each had 12 points. Tarik Black continues to impress people as he had 9 points and 9 rebounds to along with this powerful dunk.

Up next for the Lakers is King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both teams have been struggling and hopefully Kobe can find his rhythm on Thursday night.
