Lakers Sign Luol Deng

@RealGM

According to Shams Charania of the Vertical the Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent forward Luol Deng to a four-year deal worth $72 million dollar.

David Aldridge of TNT also reported the news.

Former teammate Dwyane Wade shared his thoughts on the news.

Deng is a former first round pick of the Chicago Bulls in the 2004 NBA draft. Deng played with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah during the Bulls most recent stretch good basketball.

He was later traded to the Cavaliers in attempt to make a late season push to the playoffs that failed. He became a free agent and joined forces with Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

Known for his defense and leadership ability, Deng should be a great fit in Los Angeles. The Lakers are lacking leadership after the departures of Kobe Bryant, Metta World, and Brandon Bass.
