Lakers Receive Permission To Interview Ettore Messina

According to Sam Amick of USA Today, the Los Angeles Lakers have received permission to interview San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina for their vacant head coach position.

Messina is regarded as one of the best basketball minds in the NBA. He won four Euroleague titles and won two coach of the year awards.
Messina then came to the states and became an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. After his time with the Lakers he joined the Spurs staff.
Messina quickly moved up the ranks in the San Antonio and has become Gregg Popovich’s top assistant. The Lakers search will include Luke Walton, Kevin Ollie, Derek Fisher, and many more.
