Lakers Officially Name Rob Pelinka New GM

According to Chris Manix of the Vertical the Los Angeles Lakers have officially named Rob Pelinka their new general manager.

Bill Oram of the Orange County Register also reported the news.
Lakers will introduce Rob Pelinka as their new General Manager in a news conference on Friday at 1 p.m.

Kobe Bryant endorsed the news.

News surfaced that Pelinka would be the general manager when Magic Johnson took over for Mitch Kupchak a few weeks ago. Pelinka is a long-time agent and understands that business of basketball very well.
Los Angeles will have a tough task on their hands rebuilding. It will be interesting to see what Pelinka’s plan for the Lakers future will be.
