Lakers Loss Gives Wizards The Divisional Title

The Washington Wizards made a fourth-quarter push and rallied to beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 119-108. The win gives the Wizards the season edge, winning both games between the two teams.
Washington’s John Wall led all players in scoring with 34 points and handed out 14 assists in the victory. With the win, the Wizards clinched their first division title since 1979, when they were the Bullets and ending a 38-year drought.
D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with 28 points with 9 assists. Jordan Clarkson added 22 points in his 39 minutes of court time. The Lakers could not generate any offense after the third quarter only scoring 13 points in the fourth and allowing the Wizards their comeback win. The Lakers bench was not a factor in this game as Coach Luke Walton only used four players, only scoring 33 points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
Two positive notes from the loss. The Lakers shot over 50% at 52.3% for the game, to the Wizards 48.4%. Another decent game from the three-point line as the Lakers shot 60.9% from deep range.
NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:
The Lakers (21-53), will travel to Minneapolis to face the Karl-Anthony Towns and Timberwolves. The Lakers recently beat the Wolves at home 130-119 at home.
