On his signature fade-away jumper in the second quarter over the outreach of Larry Nance Jr., Nowitzki, the greatest international player ever to wear an NBA jersey joined the 30,000 point club that was only occupied by the top five scorers in league’s history. By the way, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Lakers, 122-111 in Dallas. Nowitzki led all scorers with 25 points.
The main story-line of Nowitzki’s achievement was overshadowed by Julius Randle‘s triple-double. Randle scored 13 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in 35 minutes in his time on the floor. Both D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson led the Lakers with 22 points.
