Lakers Fall To Portland

@LakersViews

C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard single-handedly launched the Blazers over the Lakers last night, combining for 45 pts on 17-39 shooting.

The Lakers got minimal production up and down their starting five and bench. Luol Deng‘s 14 points were plenty for a team-high. Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell were your next two leading Lakers scorers with just nine each.

Aminu grabbed 14 boards for Portland. Mason Plumlee and Maurice Harkless each finished the night having eclipsed double-digits in scoring.

108-87 was your final in favor of the Blazers. It was the tenth consecutive game in which LA fell to the Trail Blazers. At 17-23, Portland currently holds the final playoff spot in the West.

The Lakers are in San Antonio tomorrow night for the first of two in a relatively difficult but brief stretch. A matchup with the Clippers looms Saturday.

The Lakers are 15-27. With the playoffs seemingly out of the picture, perhaps it’s time to set some realistic goals for the remainder of the season.

(1) Develop the kids.

Get the young studs to a point where you can feel comfortable with them in a valuable position as soon as next season.

(2) Win 35+ games.

Don’t tank. Show the fans signs of progress. Maybe even make it interesting down the stretch in terms of a potential playoff berth.

(3) Pick up a signature win.

That’s that. Prove you can compete with the elites of the NBA.
