Lakers Lose In Denver
- Updated: March 15, 2017
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their 47th loss of the 2016-17 season Monday night in Denver.
The game was never particularly close, and went final by a 28-point margin.
Jamal Murray and Will Barton led the way for the Nuggets with massive evenings off the bench. Murray dropped 22 on 8-13 shooting, while Barton added 22 of his own on a 7-12 FG mark. The two combined to shoot 9-14 from deep. Murray was a +29; Barton a +28.
Jokic and Gallinari chipped in with 18 each for Denver. Mason Plumlee scored 15 to go along with ten boards in 38 minutes for a double-double.
For the Lakers, Ivica Zubac led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds over 30 minutes. Clarkson and Ingram added 19 and 14, respectively. Russell was held in check with just ten points on a rather inefficient 4-14 shooting mark to go along with an atrocious -32 plus-minus.
The Lakers left eight points at the charity stripe and turned it over 16 times. Denver shot 54% from the floor to LA’s 43% mark. The Nuggets registered 19 more assists than the Lakers. One could argue this game was won from beyond the arc, where Denver hit nine more triples and shot 15% better than LA.
Los Angeles’s 20-47 mark is good for worst in the West and second-worst in the NBA.
Final score: Nuggets 129, Lakers 101.
The team is in Houston Wednesday night.
