Kobe Bryant finally returned to the lineup tonight but he didn’t have the impact fans were hoping he’d have. You can read about Kobe’s missing games here.  The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns 116-107.

Although Kobe helped the team with some strong ball movement, he struggled to feel comfortable in his shot, waiting until late in the first to take one. Ronnie Price helped the Lakers end the first leading 28-26 as he racked up 8 early.

The Nick Young show kicked off in the second as he began to get hot with his shots while Kobe sat on the bench after playing 11 minutes. The Lakers were able to lead by as many as 7 in the quarter, but the Phoenix Suns pushed back ending the quarter 56-55 in the Lakers favor.

Bryant started the third with a bang as he hit an 18 footer. The Suns took over and went 10-2 and they took the lead going into the fourth, 88-81.

Trouble struck in the fourth as the Lakers were unable to guard two back-to-back three pointers from Goran Dragic and Gerald Green. Lakersnation.com reports:

“While the Suns had a double-digit lead, the Lakers went on a run to cut the deficit down to two midway through the quarter. However, the Suns continued their strong play until Wes Johnson’s two threes cut the deficit down to three. In the final minutes, the Lakers could not secure an offensive rebound as Markieff Morris made a tough basket over Nick Young and secured the 116-107 win.”

The Lakers will play the Denver Nuggets tomorrow in Denver.
