Lakers lose in Cleveland,120-111

In a match-up between two of the NBA’s greatest players, this one goes to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers,120-111.
The Quicken Loans Arena was the site for the final game for Kobe Bryant against the Cavaliers and LeBron James in Cleveland. This game was close, late in the fourth quarter. The Lakers managed to cut a eighteen point deficit and pulled to within nine points, on a four-point play by Bryant.
Lou Williams led the Lakers in scoring, with 28 points, Jordan Clarkson added 22, both players played the most minutes, with 36 each. The former Ohio State product, D’Angelo Russell led the bench scoring with 15.
SCARY MOMENTS:
Kevin Love re-injured his shoulder and did not return to this game, the diagnosis is that he just bruised it. D’Angelo Russell unintentionally caught a pass from LeBron James, let’s just say, it was really in an unintentional spot.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
In this nine-point loss, Los Angeles at several points in this game was able to hang around, only because the Cavaliers had some problems with their free-throw shooting. The Lakers shot an impressive 81.5% (22-27),from the line, while the Cavs struggled at 61% (11-18). Los Angeles was also better from the deep, 46% to the Cavaliers 41%.
NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:
The Lakers,(11-44), are heading home to Los Angeles to face the San Antonio Spurs on the February 19th, after the All Star Game on Sunday in Toronto. Kobe Bryant will be in Toronto, for his eighteenth and final appearance. Los Angeles finished the first half of the season in the basement of the NBA’s Pacific Division.
