Lakers Just One Win Away From Number 17.
- Updated: October 7, 2020
The Los Angeles Lakers are now just one win away from their 17th NBA title after their 102-96 win over the Miami Heat.
The Lakers would tie the Boston Celtics for the most titles in the NBA and this would be the first time in all of the four major sports that two franchises would share their lead for the most titles.
The Heat was playing short-handed with a three-man bench, as their starters averaged 33 minutes on the floor. Bam Adebayo returned to the starting lineup, scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Miami came into this game looking to even the series but now find themselves down 3-1.
LeBron James led all scorers with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists while spending 39 minutes on the floor. Anthony Davis scored 22 points in 42 minutes played.
On Friday night the Lakers can make history when they face the Heat in game five of the NBA Finals. A long wait for the fans of the Purple and Gold after the longest playoff drought in the team’s history. The Lakers will also one win away from giving this title to the memory of the late Gianna and Kobe Bryant.
