Lakers Intend On Keeping No. 2 Pick
- Updated: May 20, 2016
YAY! Sorry still happy we got to keep the number 2 pick!
During an interview with 570 AM Mitch Kupchak said that the Lakers intention, at this moment, is to keep the pick.
This may change, however, as it has been no secret that the Lakers want to get better and the want to get better NOW. Does developing another draft pick fit into this plan?
Mitch openly said he doesn’t see many players he would want to trade the pick for. Which means he sees a lot of LA potential in Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram.
Many reports out of Philadelphia point to them taking Simmons at 1 and leaving Ingram for the Lakers. #NotABadPickUp
It helps the Lakers to keep the young cost-controlled assets they have on the table. Trying to trade away something in the hopes of landing a big star (or moderate star) leaves for a lot of uncertainty, especially with how last summer’s talks went.
The 2016-17 season could also see the removal of Jim Buss by his sister Jeannie. There’s a lot at stake this offseason, folks!
Is it June yet?
