- Updated: December 23, 2015
“VINTAGE KOBE BRYANT,” showed up last night, as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Nuggets, in Denver,111-107.
With a season-high of 31 points, on 10 of 22 from the floor, Kobe Bryant looked absolutely amazing and showed flashes of the player we are used to seeing on the court. In 32 minutes, Bryant also dished out five assist, grabbed three rebounds and was 9 of 11 from the free-throw stripe. There were a few questions about if he was going to play in this game, due to the situation with his sore right shoulder.
Jordan Clarkson, added 19 points and collected 8 rebounds to help the team on the boards, in the 38 minutes he was on the floor. Lou Williams, who is still enjoying his time at the starting shooting-guard position, added 17 points and also dished out five assists. Not to be overlooked, Larry Nance Jr., chipped in with 10 points and Roy Hibbert was perfect from both the floor and the free-throw line, in the victory.
The Lakers bench played well, led by Julius Randle, who just missed a double-double, with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Bass gave the team 31 minutes of solid play as well, with 11 points on 4 of 5 from the field and a perfect three for three from the charity stripe.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
Despite the fact that the Nuggets out-rebounded the Lakers, shot better from the free-throw line and shot better from three-point range, the Lakers were able to take the ball away from the Nuggets and the Lakers took the advantage in the block their shots, thanks to the play of Brandon Bass, who blocked a season high four shots.
NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:
The Lakers (5-23), are heading home to take on Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma Thunder, who they just seen a few days ago. The outcome was a forty-point loss, hopefully, this result can be better. The Lakers with the win, are still in the in the NBA’s Pacific Division basement, 21.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors. The game will be the on the tube at 7:30 pm PST, on the NBATV.
